General Program Description
TCC offers a 2-year PTA program that consists of 5 semesters of course work beginning in August. There are four full-time instructors and a total of 70 students every year. The total number of credit hours per semester ranges from 13-16 hours, but most students have completed their general education requirements prior to admission to the program and therefore average 9-11 credit hours per semester. Students spend approximately 28 hours per week in class or in the clinic. Graduation occurs in July.
Clinical Experiences
First-year students will have a 2-week full time clinical in the spring semester. Second-year students have a 2-week full-time clinical experience in the fall semester. Full-time experiences occur in the final summer semester. There are a total of four gclinical experiences in a variety of settings.
Faculty
There are four full-time faculty members. Two of the full-time faculty members are engaged in clinical practice. The faculty to student ratio is 1:15.
Enrollment
Tulsa Community College (TCC) is an urban community college with an enrollment of more than 21,000 students. The physical therapist assistant program accepts 35 students each year.
Admission
Request for application deadline is December 1. Approximately 230 qualified applications are received each year, and the applicant pool is interviewed during the spring semester. Notice of admission is in April. Transfer students are accepted on an individual basis.
Outcomes
74% of admitted students graduate from the program (3-year average). 80% of graduates are employed within 6 months of graduation (3 year average). 94% of those graduates who sat for the licensure examination passed (3 year average).

Student life
TCC is an urban community college offering day and evening classes at four campuses in more than 50 university/parallel fields of study, 49 technical/occupational programs, and a large variety of non-credit special programs courses. About 75% of TCC students are part-time. On-campus housing is not available; typically, about 90% of TCC students live in Tulsa County or close by. A variety of activities such as film, music presentations, lectures, exhibits and intramural sports are offered to all students.
