General Program Description
The PTA program is 13 months in length, commencing each summer. There are two full-time faculty members. In addition to the PTA faculty, guest speakers are utilized to teach specialty areas of the curriculum. Classes are held at NEO A&M in Miami and are usually scheduled during the day. Students may be required to participate in other than normal class time as laboratory, seminar or guest speaker sessions are scheduled.
Clinical Experiences
Each student is required to complete successfully three clinical rotations. Students are assigned to clinical facilities, during daytime hours, beginning the fall semester. Students are responsible for all travel and/or accommodation costs associated with the clinical education component of the program.

There are two full-time faculty members. The faculty to student ratio is 1:15.
Enrollment
Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO A&M) is a 2-year comprehensive college. Total enrollment for the 2009-2010 academic year was approximately 2,000.
Admission
Applications are available each January through March through the website www.neo.edu/pta/. The deadline for application is March 15 preceding the summer semester the student plans to enter the program. Classes begin each June. There are no state residency requirements. Fifteen students are admitted each year. To be eligible for admission, the applicant must meet the following criteria: completion of all prerequisite courses as listed on the program website no later than the spring semester of application with a 2.75 grade point average and no grade below a C. Additionally, students must have removed all academic deficiencies as assessed by the college, submit ACT/SAT scores, complete a minimum of 20 hours work/volunteer experience in a physical therapy setting, submit 3 letters of recommendations, and, if requested, participate in an interview process. Outcomes
70% of admitted students graduate from the program (3-year average). 83.8% pass the board exam the first time and 93% pass overall (3-year average) 100% are employed in the fiield within 6 months of becoming licensed.
