General Program Description
Students are admitted in the fall every other year (odd numbered years). Students must complete 14.5-17 credit hours of prerequisites prior to applying, including, Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, English, Public Speaking, and Orientation to Physical Therapy. Students are then able to apply to the PTA Program, which runs four semesters of fall, winter, fall, and winter. Clinical Experiences
At the end of the 2nd semester, students attend a five-week, full-time clinical rotation after completing 11 weeks of classroom work that semester. Students finish their clinical experiences with two 6.5 week full-time clinicals in their 4th semester. Clinical experiences are 40 hours per week, and a variety of settings are offered.
Faculty
There are two full-time faculty and several adjunct faculty members. The full-time faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:22 for lecture and 1:12 for lab courses.
Enrollment
22 students are accepted biennually with classes starting in fall of odd numbered years.
Admission
Admission to the PTA Program occurs via a Selective Admissions Process. Students are awarded points based upon their GPA in prerequisite classes, healthcare experience, MMCC credits, and other degrees. Applications are due March 1st of odd numbered years. When applying, the students must have already taken or be actively enrolled in all prerequisites; transfer students are accepted. Students will be notified in May of their admission status, and admitted students are required to complete a criminal background check prior to starting the PTA Program.
Outcomes
MMCC has an 70.0% graduation rate, from the 2013 graduating cohort. Licensure rate is 100% for passing the NPTE and employment rate is 100% of those graduates who are licensed and seeking employment from the 2013 graduating cohort.

Student life
MMCC is a commuter college with no housing on campus. There are two campuses: Harrison and Mt. Pleasant. All PTA classes are held at the Doan Center in Mt. Pleasant. Central Michigan University is located in Mt. Pleasant, MI as well, so plenty of student housing is available
