Clinical Experiences
Students spend 680 hours in clinical practice, which include one 5-week and two 6-week full-time clinical experiences.

Enrollment
The student body is composed of approximately 6,000 students of diverse culture, gender, and age. The Physical Therapist Assistant Program accepts 28 students each year.

Admission
ADMISSION PROCEDURES Admissions for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program are made only for the Fall Semester. Students must meet the admission requirements of the University, which include a formal application for admission, non refundable application fee of $20.00, transcripts of all previous academic work, scores on a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT or ACT) and a report of physical examination. In addition, students must be accepted by the Admissions Committee of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. Admission to the University does not imply acceptance in the PTA program. STUDENT SELECTION Since admissions are on a selective basis, it is to the student’s advantage to apply as early as possible. Twenty eight (28) students can be accepted each Fall. All applicants are reviewed in competition with others and notification of status is provided prior to the upcoming Fall semester. Student selection is based upon the following criteria: 1. Academic background 2. SAT or ATC scores 3. Confirmation of Physical Therapy volunteer hours. 4. Personal or telephone interview may be used to supplement other selection criteria The admissions committee makes every effort to select from among the applicants those who show promise for success in the program and success later in their careers.

Outcomes
75.8% of admitted students graduate from the program (3 year average); 95.2% of graduating students pass the licensing exam; 92.8% on the first try; and 100% of the students receive job offers upon graduation.

Tuition, fees and financial aid
The costs for 2005-2006 are $112.43 per credit for in-state students and $273.34 per credit for out-of-state students. Average room and board costs are $5,984 for 2005-2006. Approximately 75% of the students receive some form of financial aid. For specifics, contact the Director of Financial Aid.

Student life
Vincennes University, founded in 1801, has a beautiful campus with residence halls available for 3,000 students. There is adequate off-campus housing. Many extracurricular activities available such as music, art, theater, and intramural sports. Intercollegiate athletics include basketball, cross-country, track, baseball, swimming, soccer, tennis, bowling, and volleyball. Vincennes is a city with a population of 20,000 that features many historical sites and is located in southwestern Indiana on the banks of the Wabash River.
