General Program Description
If no previous courses have been taken or transferred, the course of study begins in May and ends 2 full years later (80 weeks of education), with formal commencement in May. The technology courses are offered once a year; therefore the program requires 2 full years of study, including summer.
Clinical Experiences
The integrated clinical model comprises of both part-time and full-time clinical experiences. Part-time clinical experiences occur during semester 3 and 4. A total of 3 full-time clinical experiences occur in semester 5 and 6 (second year) at different sites in the community: two 5-week and one 7-week.Faculty

The college operates on a semester basis. Application for acceptance into the PTA program must be received by February 1. Minimal criteria for admission include attendance at an Allied Health Information Session; math/science grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 in algebra, biology, and chemistry; cumulative GPA of 2.50; 20 hours of PT observation under the supervision of a physical therapist/physical therapist assistant; Notification of acceptance is made in April. For the 2013-14 academic year, tuition is a $125.75/credit hour with a maximum of $1509.00 (12 or more credits) for in-state residents and $314.50/credit hour to a maximum of $3,774.00 for nonresidents. Other fees include liability insurance, lab fees, transportation to clinics, clinic dress expense, and books. Financial aid is available through institutional funding and federal and state funds.Student life
The college is composed of 4 campuses. The Wilmington Campus PTA program is located in downtown Wilmington, approximately 45 minutes from Philadelphia and 1 hour from Dover. Another PTA program is located 2 hours south at the Georgetown campus. The Wilmington program uses numerous clinical sites (within 60 minutes from campus) during the course of study. The campus is accessible to mass transit. Housing is not provided. Cafeteria, bookstore, and counseling services are provided. Intercollegiate sports and club activities are available. The PTA program interacts with the college and local professional community through continuing education offerings, DPTA meetings, and volunteer service.No Records Found
